Aloe Vera is, hands down, perhaps the most studied plant for skin issues. This healer has most of its power in the polysaccharides it contains. These special plant sugars are crucial to cells of the body talking to each other, which is a primary step in the healing process.

Aloe vera should never ever be left out of a skincare routine because it simply does so much for the skin. Analgesic (pain relieving), Antibacterial, Antiviral, Collagen Stimulator (of the best type of of collagen the skin can make! Oat Oil is not only like liquid silk when applied, its avenanthramides are what give it the famous action of soothing and stopping itching. The physical relief that Oat Oil provides in this blend is one of the most important to the sufferer.  

Neem Oil ... never underestimate a 4,000 year old healer. This tree that grows primarily in India has been lauded for its healing ability for centuries. Neem is an extremely strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and has been used successfully in the treatment of "atopy" which is a general term for issues like eczema, psoriasis, and other reactive skin conditions. 

Tamanu Oil is another ancient oil that has been used by indigenous peoples for centuries. This oil has been scientifically shown to be a strong anti-inflammatory and to reduce swelling quickly. It also accelerates wound healing and the regrowth of healthy skin.

Black Cumin Seed Oil has a wealth of vitamins and minerals and is included in Second Skin as a nutrative for compromised skin. It also has shown to be a successful treatment for vitiligo and decrease the histamine (allergic) response of the skin.

Shea Butter is nourishing with great fatty acids and vitamin A as well as contributing to the absorption of the other oils because of its high stearic acid content.

Ucuuba Butter is in the nutmeg family and has been used historically to treat eczema and psoriasis.

TINEA VERSICOLOR:

Originally developed for a client with Tinea Versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by an overgrowth of yeast on the skin. It most often affects teens and young adults. The condition isn't contagious. Symptoms include patches of skin that are lighter or darker than the surrounding skin and discoloration may last for weeks to months.
